“I am Dehlia Dodd, the owner and hands-on Director of Western Slope In-Home Care in Meeker, Colorado. I have the unique opportunity of operating a small company in a small town. I have over 12 years experience in the home care industry. I have been working with experts in Colorado, and have expert advice close at hand. We are licensed and insured. We want to make a difference in the lives of others. My goal is to help people stay independent at home, and to help employ good-hearted people who like to shine their light.”
What we do:
Our Agency is licensed by the Colorado Department of Health to provide personal care services. Our caregivers provide both personal and non-personal care. Personal Care includes any direct hands-on assistance that may be needed such as: feeding, toileting, bathing, mobility, dressing, and grooming. Non-personal care includes joyful companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, shopping, errands, medications reminders and assistance, safety and stability assistance while moving around and during bathing.
Our caregivers are available from 2 hours a week to 24 hours per day. We also provide reasonable night rates. We are on call 24/7.
Western Slope In-Home Care provides care and support to Medicaid clients through the State of Colorado’s Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver Programs for adults. We also accept long-term care insurance and Private Pay.
Our caregivers do not perform medical services. However, we partner with and complement the services of home health and hospice agencies by performing the services they typically do not provide. Also, our services are significantly less expensive which allows for a more affordable long-term presence in the home.
Caregiver Verification:
We hire only experienced caregivers and put them through a rigorous investigation process before they enter a home. This includes a 7- year local, state, and federal criminal background check, 12 component drug screen, 2 personal interviews, personal and business reference checks, skills test, and we provide mandatory training per Colorado state code requirements. We understand that you can’t be too careful when you invite someone into your home.We also have continued training throughout the year, on different subjects pertaining to the elderly care, and safety precautions. Placing caregivers in a home can also be a match-making game, it is an objective for Western Slope In-Home Care to make sure clients can pick and choose the caregivers that are recommended.
